Our skincare routine for combination skin

Combination skin can be a tricky puzzle to solve when it comes to skincare. Finding the right balance with your skincare is crucial for maintaining a healthy complexion that glows!

First let's take a look at what we mean by combination skin. Typically, this skin type has a mix of oily and dry areas of skin. Often the T-Zone (forehead, nose, chin) tend to be oilier, while cheeks may be normal or dry.

Now we are onto how to tailor your skincare to address both of these concerns.

Skincare routine for dry skin.

Like all good skincare routines, we want to make sure we start off with a good cleanser. This will help remove impurities without stripping the skin. Our Spearmint Face Cleanser is fantastic for helping to balance oil production and also hydrates dry areas. This is a beautiful product that is suitable for all skin types and everyday use.

Next up you will want to find an exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells, prevent pores from clogging, and will address the T-zone oiliness. Our Blood Orange Face Exfoliant is full of the good stuff, glycolic and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). This will help to break down that dead skin and increase cell turnover.

After exfoliating it's a good idea to tone your skin. Witch Hazel or Chamomile can help to soothe dry skin while minimising oiliness. With a toner we are aiming to balance the skin's PH levels and help control any excess oils.

Hydration is a key ingredient to your combination skincare routine! Use a lightweight and oil free moisturiser to hydrate the skin without clogging the pores. Be sure to pop a bit extra moisturiser onto your dry skin areas, so that all parts receive adequate hydration. Check out our Prickly Pear Face Cream, a wonderful everyday moisturiser.

Some extra tips to help with caring or combination skin include adding a weekly face mask into the routine. It's a good idea to find a hydrating mask to use with the dry areas, and a clay mask for the oily zones. By targeting each area with spot treatment or serums you can also help to address specific concerns.

Overnight if possible add some extra moisturiser on to help your skin repair and regenerate while you sleep!

It's important to maintain a balance between oily and dry areas for a successful skincare routine for combination skin. By choosing products that cater to the unique needs of each zone, you can achieve beautiful, healthy, radiant skin.
